🕳️ Last week at the Southeastern Europe Tunnelling Conference (SETC-2025) and International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA) #Awards, the #Serbian #Association for #Tunnels (ITA Serbia) in close cooperation with International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA) organised a magnificent and informative week!
🗺️ I had the honour to moderate a "think-tank" panel entitled Unlocking Opportunities for Tunnel and Underground Space Development in Southeastern Europe – A #Risk #Management Perspective with distinguished representatives of tunnelling ITA members in Southeastern Europe - Andreas Benardos (President Greek Tunnelling Society), Ioanidi Anton (President - #Romanian Tunnelling Association), @Zvoko Tomanovic (President - Association for Tunnels #Montenegro), Zlatko Zafirovski (President - #NorthMacedonia Association for Tunnels), Slobodan D. Radovanovic (Vice President - #Serbian Association for Tunnels) and Angelo Žigon (immediate past President #Slovenia Society for Undergound Structures).
🏆Huge shout-out to the Elliniko Metro team for winning the first prize at the category "Elevated Thinking Underground: Shaping the Future" for the #Venizelou #Metro #Station #Thessaloniki, #Greece. The "museum - station" idea and the extremely difficult technical arrangements to make this happen, captivated the international jury. Well done Nikolas Kouretas, Christos Karadimas and team for the success and many thanks for letting me touch the prize (Dimitrios Alifragkis, Ioannis Fikiris, Christos Karadimas and Andreas Benardos) 😁 !
